Hello everyone, this is just a short summary of my personal, professional and educational interests.
My interest for Math and Computer programming started when I had my first computers (Commodore 64,Amiga 500), spending long days in front of Commando, Sensible Soccer and Pang. I really wanted to understand the logic running underneath, so I studied Computer Science.
I consider informatics first and foremost as an instrument for the education of the mind: it involves analysing a problem emerged in a specific model adopting a good perspective to develop a sound and efficient solution.
I completed my bachelor's degree in Computer Science at Roma Tre University. My upper-division courses consisted primarily of the study of the design of algorithms for Operation Research and Automation. Therefore, after an internship at ENEA (Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development), I've recieved my Master Degree in Automation and Management Engineering. My principal research interest are:
My Master Degree Thesis mainly concerned the topic of Data Fusion and knowledge representation (For further information visit the Portfolio section).
In 2015 I won a Ph.D scholarship provided by CMCRC and supported by the industry partners AIHW and NHPA. My Ph.D research project was focused on developing methods and geo-spatial software tools for use in reporting on the performance of primary care. I worked under the supervision of researchers from the CMCRC and AIHW. We developed new models and algorithms to cluster geographies with similar socioeconomic characteristics. I designed the Homogeneity and Location index to classify probability distributions and clustering geographic areas (For further information visit the Portfolio section). The work has been presented at the WICC conference on geographic variation (Development of Tools for the Analysis of Geographic Variation and Classification of Geographic Peer Groups) and published in the International Journal of Health Geographics (A framework for the identification and classification of homogeneous socioeconomic areas in the analysis of health care variation). This work also informed the publication " A new generation of Primary care service Areas or general practice catchment areas ", published in the Journal Transaction in GIS, and contributed to the development of a tool for designing customizable catchment areas.
Moreover, I used to work on a new evidential measure for classification problem and pattern recognition such as diagnostic reasoning system (For further information visit the Presentations section).
I'm curious and eager to learn new things. Learning and sharing knowledge are the best components of my personality. These attitudes lead me to explore new opportunities; I believe that finding simple yet emotionally engaging solutions to complex problem is usually a serendipity process. High level of determination and enthusiasm to develop professional skills in challenging projects with leading-edge technologies.
I'm passionate of Art Drawing and sometimes I practice in portrait. I'm amazed by the beauty of Geometry,Algebra and Calculus especially when you can apply to real problems.
When the weather is fine I go running or swimming.
I also posses a nice collection of Boomerangs (Gallery), the contrast between their incredible simplicity and complex rotational dynamic never ceases to amaze me.
